About the book
Santa Barbara, this year. A foundation endowed with fourteen million dollars nine years ago has a trustee its board would like assessed, and the counsel who asks is the counsel from Savannah, which means that for the first time in twelve years a client has come back. The trustee is the daughter. She is entirely competent, has obtained a report Nate Cobb wrote nine years ago that nobody read at the time, and has run a foundation on it since. He is fifty-four, has no practice, no supervision, no engagement and no city to move to. Eleven days in November are the last professional work of his career, and in January he does something small.
